    • Thanks for asking such a pertinent question! The answer is that the little girls are indeed edible, but are generally used for decoration purposes only – similar to a sprig of parsley garnishing a plate. In Japan, the etiquette regarding little girls served with a meal is as follows:

      1. Perform polite introductions, complete with the exchanging of business cards.

      2. One at a time, gently pick up each girl using a clean pair of chopsticks, and place them on the table to the left of your plate.

      3. Eat your meal while watching cute girls do cute things.

      4. After your meal, replace little girls on plate using a clean pair of chopsticks.
